A human chain was formed on the premises of Sirajganj District Judge Court (DJC) on Wednesday demanding cancellation of illegal recruitment in the court and resignation of its Senior District Judge due to massive corruption allegations.
A rally was also followed by the human chain.
People from all walks of life including students of Anti-discrimination movement platform, teachers, lawyers, politicians and cultural personalities took part in the demonstrations with the aim to fulfill their demands.
During the agitation, the demonstrators said, there are massive allegations of corruption and irregularities by the concerned recruitment committee’s members and judges in context of 34 candidates’ recruitment. The corrupt judges took shelter of injustice instead of ensuring justice to the applicants.
They took recruitment test in their private rooms under special arrangement in exchange of big sum of bribe. The video footages of this greater anomaly went into viral throughout social media including facebook. Former Law Minister Anisul Haque, the then Law Secretary and Senior District and Sessions Judge of Sirajganj Judge Court are also responsible behind the irregularities, they revealed.
The demonstrators further said, meanwhile, the news-reports of those corruptions and irregularities have been published on different print and electronic media including English daily newspaper ‘The Daily Sky’ and New Nation. In this situation, the recruitment must be cancelled without delaying. Besides, those, who have remained involved with the corruptions and anomalies, must be brought to the book, they urged.
Anti-discrimination Lawyer Forum’s Convener Advocate Nazmul Hossain, Advocate Raifiq Talukder, Sirajganj District BNP’s Secretary General Saidur Rahman Bachchu, BNP leader Mirza Mostafa Zaman, Nur-e-Koyes Sabuj, Nazmul Hasan Talukder Rana and Anwar Hossain Rajesh among others were also present on the occasion.
