A human chain was held at Chowrangi intersection of the district on Saturday demanding the construction of a 1,000-bed China Friendship Hospital to be built by China on government land adjacent to Darwani Textile Mill in Nilphamari.
District BNP, District Jamaat-e-Islami and District Bar Association leaders were present in the human chain. District BNP co-organizing secretary and former central student leader of DU Redwanul Haque Babu, Nilphamari Bar Association president Advocate Al Farooq Abdul Latif and Nilphamari District Bar Association general secretary and District Sessions Judge Court PP Al Masud Chowdhury among others spoke at the human chain.
The speakers of the human chain said that many Chinese companies have business and trade in Uttara EPZ of Nilphamari. If the hospital is built here, the Darwani Textile Mill area of Nilphamari will be a middle point between Rangpur, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Lalmonirhat and Gaibandha in the northern region, and there will be good communication facilities and access to Syedpur Airport. The speakers said that the current interim government’s chief advisor Dr. Md. Yunus appealed to him that if this hospital is established in Nilphamari.
for the development of North Bengal, all the people of Nilphamari and North Bengal will get improved medical services.
