Chattogram Bureau :

Aparajeya Bangla, an NGO of Chattogram, formed a human chain to demand the removal of the commercial children’s park built around the walls of Circuit House, an important structure of the Port City, and to open the place for common people.

Last Friday at 3:00pm in front of Shishu Park, people from different classes and professions participated in this human chain and expressed solidarity.

Expressing solidarity with the human chain, BLF freedom-fighter Pankaj Kumar Dastidar said that the first independent Bangladesh flag was hoisted at Circuit House in Chattogram.

After the liberation war, the freedom fighters came and gathered in front of the circuit house.

The first Bijoy Mela started in this field where the elite freedom-fighters commemorated the victory on the victory stage.

Nurul Azim Roni, the former general secretary of Chattagram City Chhatra League, said that although Chattogram has a unique contribution to the creation of Bangladesh and the achievement of independence, there are no memorials or monuments of independence or the history of independence, cultural practices or any significant memorials or monuments for future generations to know.

There is no memorial.

Apart from this there is a dearth of open grounds for the public.
