A human chain and broom procession were held against an allegedly national identity card and birth registration forger, and also a land grabber namely Mosharraf Hossain Molla of Aruabarni village in Chitalmari Upazila of Bagerhat district. Memebers of the victim family also submitted a memorandum to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).
The human chain was formed in front of the main gate of the upazila on Monday, September 4 at 10:30 am. Among the victim’s family members, Md. Selim Hossain said that in 2016, Mosharraf Hossain Molla, son of the deceased Nawab Ali Molla of Aruwabarni village, forged a national identity card and birth registration in the name of Foni Bhushan alias Moni Mondal. The address on the national identity card is shown as Sonatala village of Bagerhat municipality. However, the affidavit given by the Mayor of Ward No. 03 Municipality Khan Abu Bakkar dated 08/06/2021 states that no one lives in the municipality by the name of Phonibhusan alias Moni Mondal, father-deceased Rabindranath Mondal, mother- deceased Heman Dini bearing National Identity Card Form Number- 41010854. The said form mentions Phonibhusan alias Moni Mondal, father- deceased Sashodhar Mondal, mother’s name- deceased Heman Dini. The year of death of the father is shown as 1944 and the date of birth of the son Phonibhusan is shown as 1948. This means that the son Phonibhusan alias Moni Mondal was born 5 years after the death of the father. Mosharraf Hossain Mollah’s own mobile number 01751752611 has been used in the said form.
The fraudster Mosharraf Hossain Molla forged the name of a farmer named Sushen Mondal of Char Kurartala village of Hijla Union and wrote it himself on the form and also used Sushen Mondal’s national identity card number there. Sushen Mondal said that he had gone to India for medical treatment on a passport at that time. Mosharraf Hossain Molla forged some documents and forcibly occupied the houses of two people named Golam Mostafa Lintu Sardar and Md. Hannan Munshi and stole about 1 crore taka. Among the victim members who participated in the human chain, Golam Mostafa Lintu Sardar said that he has strongly demanded the administration to arrest the fraudster Mosharraf Molla under the law. Victim Lutfar Rahman said that the fraudster Mosharraf Molla has been constantly threatening to bring some strangers to his house and make him leave.
