Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations are underway across the country in a smooth and secure manner, said Education Adviser Prof CR Abrar on Thursday.
Speaking to journalists after visiting the exam centre at Bhabanitech Government College in the capital, he noted that all examinees were following health protocols, including wearing masks and maintaining safe distancing.
He assured that comprehensive measures have been put in place to tackle both COVID-19 and dengue threats, ensuring a safe environment for students without cause for concern.
Addressing the issue of question paper leaks, Prof Abrar said, “The risk is always there, but we remain as vigilant as we were during the SSC exams. We are hopeful that no dishonest group will get an opportunity to leak questions. Strict action will be taken against anyone found spreading rumours.”
Regarding flood-related challenges, he added, “Contingency plans are ready. If any exam centre is found unsuitable due to environmental conditions, necessary actions will be taken as per the guidelines.”
He further confirmed that the quality and standard of the question papers have been properly maintained.
According to the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, a total of 1,251,111 candidates are appearing in this year’s exams under 11 education boards.
The exams are taking place at 2,797 centres nationwide. On the first day, examinations commenced at 10:00 am and concluded at 1:00 pm.
