Houses of minorities vandalised inJessore
Miscreants vandalised and torched the houses of minorities after looting their valuables under Sadar upazila in Dinajpur. Shelterless residents fled to safer places (left) on Monday.
UNB, Jessore : Criminals on Sunday evening went on the rampage, torching and vandalising the hoses of Hindu community members in Chengutia village in Abhaynagar upazila. Three Hindu boys-Mukul, Sujit and Shaymal-were critically injured during the attack. They were admitted to Abhaynagar Upazila Health Complex. Locals said a gang of 15-20 criminals, allegedly upon instruction by the Chengutia UP chairman, set fire to 12 Hindu houses and vandalised another 12 around 6:30 pm. The attackers also obstructed the firefighters when they tried to douse the flame, alleged locals. Emdad Hossain, officer-in-charge of Abhaynagar Police Station, confirmed the matter.
