The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday issued seven strict directives aimed at enhancing security within the Bangladesh Secretariat, the nerve center of the country’s administration in the capital.
The public order, signed by Md. Jasim Uddin, Joint Secretary of the Secretariat Security Branch under the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry, emphasizes the importance of maintaining uninterrupted security and order across all buildings and premises within the Secretariat.
The notice states, “As the heart of the country’s administration, the security of every building inside the Bangladesh Secretariat is very important. Therefore, these directives have been taken to ensure round-the-clock order and security of every building and premises located inside the Secretariat.”
The seven directives outlined are:
1. Any kind of procession, rally, or mass gathering is strictly prohibited inside the Secretariat.
2. Unauthorized meetings, gatherings, or conferences by professional organizations or societies are not allowed in conference rooms of ministries or departments within the Secretariat.
3. Officials requiring to stay inside the Secretariat after 6:00 PM for urgent official work must notify the Ministry of Home Affairs in advance.
4. Staying inside the Secretariat on weekends or holidays for official purposes requires prior permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
5. Officers and employees must keep their Secretariat entry passes visible at all times.
6. Distribution of leaflets, hanging of banners or festoons in any building or premises inside the Secretariat is banned.
7. Security forces in charge will carry out strict security checks on all vehicles and persons entering the Secretariat.
These measures reflect the government’s commitment to maintaining stringent security protocols within the Secretariat amid ongoing administrative and security challenges.
