Government, semi-government and private offices, including banks and financial institutions, reopened on Wednesday after a three-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday.
But the attendance was thin at the Secretariat, the administrative hub, as a few officials, including some ministers and state ministers, attended their offices.
Sources at the Secretariat said, many ministers and state ministers celebrated Eid in their electoral constituencies and did not join their offices yesterday.A good number of officers and employees are on additional leave to spend more time with their near and dear ones at their village homes, the sources added.
The ministers, secretaries and other staff who joined their offices yesterday were busy exchanging Eid greetings. The attendance in other government offices in the capital was also poor.
The offices went into holiday on Sunday last for Eid celebrations.
