Under the theme “Workers-owners will build the country, Bangladesh will be smart,” May Day 2024 was commemorated in Rangpur with fervor and enthusiasm.
A discussion meeting was convened on Wednesday, May 1st, at the Rangpur District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium to mark the occasion. The event, jointly organized by the Rangpur District Administration and the Regional Labor Department, saw the presence of esteemed dignitaries. Md Zakir Hossain, Divisional Commissioner of Rangpur, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Mohammad Mobashwer Hasan, District Commissioner, presided over the meeting.
Prominent figures such as Md Saifuzzaman Faruqi, Additional Commissioner of Police of Rangpur Metropolitan, Md Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, Superintendent of Police, Md Riaz Uddin, Deputy Director of Local Government Department, Md Al-Amin, Deputy Inspector General of Rangpur Factory and Establishment Inspection Directorate, and representatives from various sectors delivered speeches as special guests. The vibrant celebrations commenced with a colorful rally originating from the Rangpur District Commissioner’s office premises and culminating at the Town Hall, symbolizing solidarity and unity in honoring the contributions of workers across all sectors.
