Hindrance to construct expressway in Port City no more

After three years, Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) got permission to use the railway site. There has already been a bilateral agreement between Railways and CDA.
Initially it will be given for 10 years. CDA has been leased for Tk3 crore 4 lakh 92 thousand. As a result, there is no obstacle in the construction of the 16km long elevated expressway from Lalkhan Bazar to Patenga.
CDA Chief Engineer Kazi Hasan Bin Shams and Railway Chief Land Property Officer Sujan Chowdhury signed the bilateral agreement on Monday.
The construction of the elevated expressway was awaiting approval from the Railways for the past three years. After the approval, there were no further hurdles in the construction of expressway from Lalkhan Bazar to Shah Amanat International Airport.
