An awareness meeting titled “Road Safety and Road Accidents” was held at the Primary Training Institute, Rangpur on Tuesday afternoon at the initiative of Highway Police Rangpur Region to control road accidents. More than a hundred government primary school teachers and trainers training at PTI Rangpur participated in the awareness meeting. Highway Police Rangpur Region Police Super Mohammad Tariqul Islam spoke as the main discussant at the event. In the discussion meeting, the Superintendent of Police discussed in detail various issues including what to do to prevent road accidents, social problems caused by road accidents, causes of road accidents and the Road Transport Act. During this, various pictures, video clips, and data of respected teachers were shown through a projector. He said that every year, an average of eight thousand people lose their lives in road accidents and more than half a million people are injured, so road accidents are a national problem for us.
