A high-level delegation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has visited Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) on Tuesday, says a press release.
The members of the delegation include Mr. Robert D. Simpson, FAO Representative in Bangladesh, Nur Ahamed Khondaker, Assistant FAO Representative (Programme) and Ahamed Hossain Khan, Senior Adviser, FAO Bangladesh.
BARI Director General Dr. Abul Kalam Azad with other directors welcomed the delegation at the time of their arrival in the institute. BARI Director General Dr. Abul Kalam Azad also gave a welcome address at his conference room. Principal Scientific Officer of DG Office Dr. Dilwar Ahmed Choudhury and Chief Scientific Officer of Farm Machinery and Post Harvest Process Division Dr. Md. Ayub Hossain gave brief Power Point presentation on the activities and achievements of BARI.
BARI Director (Research) Dr. Md. Abdul Wohab, Director (Support Services) Dr. Madan Gopal Saha, Director (Training & Communication) Zebun Nessa, Chief Scientific Officer (Entomology) Dr. Debasish Sarkar, Chief Scientific Officer (Biotechnology) Mst. Dilafroz Khanam, scientists, officers, among others, were present on the occasion.
Later, the delegation visited Toxicology Lab, IPM Lab, Post-harvest Lab, Farm Machinery Lab and Biotechnology Lab and expressed their by seeing activities, advancement and achievements of BARI.
