Sheikh Arif Bulbon :
The action movie trend is now blowing outside the country. Basically, the stories are being created around the hero of the movie.
At the same time, movie promotions are becoming hero-centric. Movies’ posters, teasers, and trailers are being made with the hero in mind.
The heroines are also being overlooked in the promotions of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr movies.
There are more than a dozen of movies awaiting release on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Out of these, the teasers of three movies have been released; each of which is made around the heroes of the movies. The heroines had a minimal presence in these.
The teaser of Mehedi Hasan Hridoy directed movie ‘Borbaad’ was released on February 27.
The entire 1 minute 44 second video is made around the hero Shakib Khan, and it also features scenes of violence.
In it, Shakib Khan’s character is seen as the spoiled son of a gangster father. He is taking drugs; there are rape allegations against him, and they are killing enemy people one by one. Blood is pouring out of Shakib Khan’s eyes. He is willing to destroy the world to get the person he loves, Neetu. Idhika Paul plays the role of Neetu, who is seen in the film for a short time, and that too without dialogue.
On the other hand, Afran Nisho is coming out with his second film in his career this Eid.
Therefore, there is a lot of interest among the audience about his film ‘Dagi’. Although this film, directed by Shihab Shaheen, features two heroines, its plot is centered around Afran Nisho.
In the teaser of the movie which released recently, shows Nisho in three different looks and situations. Nisho’s character in the movie is named Nishan.
At first, he appears with big hair, in the middle he is seen in a normal role, and at the very end, we see him wearing the uniform of prisoner number 786. A glimpse of Tama Mirza and Sunehra Binte Kamal is seen in the movie.
Meanwhile, the same image as films ‘Borbaad’ and ‘Dagi’ are in M Rahim’s film ‘Jongli’.
Although Siam Ahmed is accompanied by Shobnom Bubly and Dighi, it was as if they were not present in the teaser of the movie.
The 1 minute 11 second teaser showed Siam wears lungi, full of action, suspense, action – the kind of movie that is typical of South Indian cinema.
After the release of the poster and pre-teaser, many viewers claimed that ‘Pushpa’ and ‘Kabir Singh’ were similar to Siam’s look.
So at the beginning of the teaser, Siam’s mouth was filled with the words “Pushpa’, ‘Kabir Singh’, yes, ‘Jongli’, but not for everyone.”
The heroine Bubly was seen for just a few seconds. Another heroine, Dighi, could not be found.
Before and after this, the exact opposite happened in pre-teaser of the movie.
Although there was Dighi there, the same thing did not happen to Bubly. Directors disagree about giving priority to heroes in promoting movies. According to them, heroines have an equally important role in the story of a movie.
They believe that viewers will understand this only after watching the entire movie.
Director of movie ‘Borbaad’, Mehedi Hasan Hridoy said, “The movie is not made just about the hero’s story. There is also the heroine’s story. In one of the dialogues of the teaser, which is heard in Shakib Khan’s mouth, “If I don’t get Neetu, I will ruin the entire world.” That is, the character ‘Neetu’ has a big role that is understandable. Therefore, it cannot be said that teaser is not hero-centric. Teaser said that we wanted to tell the story in such a way that the audience would be a little confused. But that happened. So, Shakib Bhai is talking about different aspects of his character. That’s what we wanted.”
Another director Shihab Shaeen, also director of ‘Dagi’, told this correspondent, “We see this episode of the movie as an introduction to the character of ‘Shan’. And an idea of the content of the movie is given. There is a conflict between father and son. The sign is to create interest in the audience. We may have been able to do that. Many have complained about the lack of presence of the heroines, but they were shown a glimpse. The trailer shows them a little more. If everything is shown in an adult format, then why would viewers go to the cinema? Teasers and trailers can increase people’s aversion to movies. That’s what we wanted to do.”
However, Kamruzzaman Roman’s film ‘Jinn 3’ is a bit of an exception. The posters released so far have heroine Nusraat Faria getting equal importance with the hero Abdun Noor Shajal.
