The High Court has affirmed the legitimacy of the interim government, stating that the people of Bangladesh have widely accepted it, thereby eliminating any disputes regarding its validity.
The observation came from a bench consisting of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Sikder Md Mahmudur Razi during a hearing of a writ petition that challenged the oath of the interim government.
The court noted that the government was established based on the Supreme Court’s interpretation of Article 106 of the Constitution. Senior lawyer Advocate Mohsin Rashid, who filed the writ petition, represented the case in court.
