High Court (HC) has suspended the Special General Meeting (EGM) of Dhaka Club for three months. Justice Khizir Ahmed Chowdhury issued the order on Thursday in response to an application. The meeting was scheduled for Saturday, May 20.
The notice for the EGM was issued on April 29. Shaukat Aziz, a club member and chairman of Amber Group, filed a petition under the Companies Act challenging the validity of the notice. Senior lawyer Saeed Ahmed and lawyer Kazi Akhtar Hossain represented Shaukat Aziz in court.
