A new audio recording featuring former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has surfaced, stirring political tensions and sparking widespread debate across Bangladesh. In the leaked conversation, Hasina, who is reportedly in exile in India following her ouster amidst a student-led uprising, speaks harshly about her political opponents and the interim government, while also declaring her intent to bring them to trial.

The audio, which was released on social media on Sunday, reportedly captures a phone conversation between Sheikh Hasina and her party members, offering instructions and discussing the political situation.

The conversation appears to have taken place during a protest event organized by the Sweden Awami League, where Hasina was giving advice and encouragement to party activists.

Several key figures within the party, including Bablu Subhash Ghosh, Lincoln Mollah, Khokon Majumder, Naeem Bablu, Mohammad Shahid, Mahbubur Rahman, Limon, Kabir, and Sabbir, were also mentioned in the conversation.

At the beginning of the conversation, Hasina is heard referring to the interim government’s advisors and coordinators as “killers” and instructing her supporters to record their phone calls.

She also claims that the country’s people are suffering under the tyranny of the “illegal” government, which has led to widespread unemployment and violence against workers and farmers.

Sheikh Hasina further comments on the student protests that took place between July 7 and July 14, claiming that the students were peaceful until they were provoked. “They hadn’t even been touched before they became violent. We didn’t harm them. We never ordered the police to use metal bullets. I instructed that no shooting should occur,” she said in the audio.
