Hasina-Rehana-Quader sued in another Rangpur case

A case has been filed against 451 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Obaidul Quader in connection with the clash with the police and Awami League leaders during the anti-discrimination student movement on July 19 in Rangpur. About 200-300 unknown accused have been made in the case.
On Sunday (August 25), shop worker Mamdel Hossain alias Mamdel (28) filed the case in Rangpur Metropolitan KotwaliAmli Court. Advocate Palash Kandi Nag, member secretary of Anti-Discrimination Lawyers Movement, confirmed the case.
The other accused in the case are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, HasanulHaqueInu, Rashed Khan Menon, journalists Subhash Singh Roy and Naimul Islam Khan, former Minister of State for Information Mohammad A Arafat, Shajahan Khan, Kamrul Islam, ApuUkil, former Justice ShamsuzzamanChowdhuryManik, Former Justice Aktaruzzaman,
Former DIG of Rangpur Range Abdul Baten, Former Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Rangpur District Commissioner MobaswerHasan, Divisional Commissioner ZakirHossain, District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shahjahan, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Uttam Kumar Pal, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Utpal Kumar Roy. Apart from this, the names of 451 people from different levels of Rangpur district and metropolitan Awami League and organs and affiliated organizations have been mentioned. 200-300 unknown accused have been made in the case.
According to the statement of the case, during the anti-discrimination student movement on July 19, there was a clash between the students and the crowd with the police and the activists of the Aodami League in the City Bazar area.
Plaintiff MamdelHossain’s left leg was crushed in the firing by the Samad police. In addition, the hands and body were shot at different places. Later he was admitted to Pangu Hospital from Rangpur in Dhaka. There, his left leg below the knee and finger were amputated. At least five people were shot dead on the spot that day.
