A case has been filed against 431 individuals, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Minister Obaidul Quader, over an alleged attempted murder of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal activist Zakirul Islam during the July-August mass uprising.
Zakirul lodged the case with Bogura Sadar Police Station on March 16, naming 181 individuals and accusing 250 unnamed others. Confirming the development, the station’s Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) stated that further action would follow an investigation.
Other prominent figures named in the case include:
Mojibur Rahman Mojnu – Bogura District Awami League President & Former MP ,Ragebul Ahsan Ripu – District AL General Secretary & Former MP ,Shariful Islam Jinnah – District Jatiya Party President & Former MP ,Monjurul Alam Mohon – Awami League Leader
According to case documents, Zakirul, students, and locals held a rally at Yakubia School intersection, Bogura, at noon on August 4.
Allegedly, Awami League cadres launched an attack, firing gunshots and throwing crude bombs at protesters. Several people, including Zakirul, sustained injuries, with shrapnel wounds on multiple body parts.
