Hasina involved in Zia killing Oli Ahmed

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) president and retired Colonel Dr. Oli Ahmad on Wednesday alleged that ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina was involved in the assassination of former President Ziaur Rahman.
He made these remarks during an emergency press conference on the ongoing political situation in the capital.
Oli Ahmad said, “India needs a government of their choice in Bangladesh. Their first preferred government was that of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Then, by assassinating President Ziaur Rahman-Hasina was involved in this killing, as I have said before.”
He continued, “I say again, Hasina was fleeing with Sajeda Chowdhury. They were caught on the Akhaura border. At that time, the BDR (Bangladesh Rifles) brought them back. Within 17-18 days of her return, President Ziaur Rahman was killed.”
The LDP president added, “If the Awami League had been banned from the start, no one would have been able to create chaos in the country. The Awami League will never again be able to stand as a political party in Bangladesh.”
Advising Dr. Muhammad Yunus to modernize the import-export process, the LDP president said, “Don’t be the leader of the NCP; become the leader of Bangladesh. Measures must be taken to ensure that no specific group benefits through the Chattogram Port and that it truly benefits Bangladesh.”
He also said, “Unilateral decisions regarding the humanitarian corridor could backfire. Decisions should be made in consultation with everyone.”
Regarding the current unstable political situation, he remarked, “No one can block public movement just to win a mayoral position.”
