The iconic Bengali New Year celebration ‘Channel i-Shurer Dhara Hajaro Konthe Borshoboron’ is set to return on April 14 at 6:00am in the capital’s Rabindra Sarobar, said a press release.

Last time ‘Hajar Konthe Borshoboron’ was held at China-Bangladesh
Friendship Conference Centre in 2024.

After a three-year break, the event is making a full-scale comeback featuring thousands of voices welcoming the New Year 1432 through choral performances and cultural displays.
Artists from across the country, including indigenous performers, will participate.
The celebration begins on April 13 evening with a traditional ‘Chaitra Sankranti’ fair featuring folk elements like Nagor Dola, Lathi Khela, and stalls selling local crafts and utensils.
Filmmaker and Cultural Advisor Mostofa Sarwar Farooki visited
the venue on Monday (April 7) to inspect preparations.
Officials from Dhaka South City Corporation, Channel i, and Shurer Dhara were also present.
Farooki confirmed full cooperation from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
Previously held in front of the China-Bangladesh Friendship Conference Centre, the event now returns to its open-air format at Rabindra Sarobar with renewed energy and larger crowds expected.
