Hadi murder Aminul on 5-day remand

A Dhaka court on Wednesday granted a five-day remand for Md Aminul Islam, also known as Raju, for allegedly assisting prime accused Faisal Karim Masud in evading arrest by hiding in a border area in connection with the Sharif Osman Hadi murder case.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Mohammad Junaid passed the order following a hearing on Wednesday (24 December), court sources said.
Earlier in the day, police arrested Aminul from Mirpur Section-11 in the capital during an early-morning operation.
Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and an aspiring independent candidate in the upcoming national election from the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot in the Paltan area of the capital on 12 December. He later died from his injuries at a hospital in Singapore on 18 December.
Following the incident, Inqilab Mancha Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber filed a murder case with Paltan Police Station on 14 December.
