UN Resident Representative Gwyn Lewis held a meeting on Monday with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin to discuss key issues surrounding the upcoming elections in Bangladesh.
The meeting took place at 4:30pm at the Election Commission headquarters in Agargaon.
This was the first diplomatic meeting for Nasir Uddin since his appointment as CEC. Although the meeting was a courtesy call, they discussed various matters, including the next national parliamentary elections.
Other EC members were present.
On November 21, President Mohammad Shahabuddin formed the new commission led by AMM Nasir Uddin, and the commission took office on November 24 after taking the oath of office at the Election Commission building.
