Guba Books, known for publishing high-quality children’s books in Bangla and English, is launching six new titles at a fun-filled event in Dhaka.
The launch event, called “Stories in the Park”, is taking place at Justice Shahabuddin Park in Gulshan 2 on Saturday (December 3), said a press release.
Celebrations include musical sessions, book readings and lots of fun children’s activities!
Four of the six books were produced in collaboration with The Asia Foundation as part of their “Gom Acho Collection,” which represent and affirm the lives of children affected by the refugee experience.
The other two books feature the beauty and vibrancy of Bangladesh depicted through wonderful storytelling and gorgeous artwork. “Where are the Chonchols?” is a search-and-find book featuring twelve (12) unique festivals of Bangladesh such as Pohela Boishakh, Nouka Baich and Shakrain. While, “Sun Moon Secret” has a rural Bangladeshi setting and is about two sisters who possess special powers.
Raya Rahman, founder and editor of Guba Books, says: “We strive to create books that kids are delighted by. Books that foster pride in their heritage, language and culture.”
