Campus Reports :

Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman on Saturday urged the guardians of students taking DU admission tests not to bring their cars to the university campus to ensure a healthy and beautiful environment and smooth examination for the admission seekers and to avoid unnecessary crowds.
He made this call during an exchange meeting with journalists after visiting examination centres at the Faculty of Fine Arts at 11:30am on Saturday.
During this time, Dr Md Nisar Hossain, the admission test coordinator and dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts was also present.
After visiting the examination centre, the vice chancellor said: “We have spoken to the examinees. They expressed satisfaction with the quality of questions and the environment.”
“We hope that a more beautiful environment will be maintained in the coming days. There should be no crowding of people, no excessive cars. We are requesting everyone’s cooperation so that the students can come to the examination centre without any hassle. Our proctorial team will also work there.”
Regarding question paper leaks, he said: “You know we have expressed a vow to take action against dishonest people involved in question paper leaks.
We also have law and order forces with us. We have brought to book some of the people who are doing such dishonest acts and propaganda of various question paper frauds.”
“Our tests are transparent as always. We are progressing nicely with the cooperation of all concerned. Hopefully, no untoward incident will happen in the coming days.”
As admission candidates for the Faculty of Fine Arts are increasing day by day, in response to the question whether there is any possibility of increasing the seats in such a situation, he said: ” Fine Art is a creative medium of education. Students are admitted on some criteria.
The number of seats is also decided following that standard. Some subjects are so practical that it is difficult to ensure learning through lecture-based classroom activities alone. There are many more practical issues. So like science they also have to keep the number of seats within their means.”
About 7,100 students participated against 130 seats in the admission test held on Saturday.
“If the students come out with quality assurance from the eight departments, they will be able to contribute to other areas of the society,” added the VC.
The admission test of Dhaka University (DU) for 2022-23 academic session began with examination for Faculty of Fine Art on Saturday.
