Daffodil International University (DIU) in association with Pragati Life Insurance has taken a gigantic initiative of introducing a remarkable policy titled ‘Guardian’s Insurance Policy’ first time in Bangladesh for the students who have unfortunately lost their guardians. According to that policy, sudden death of a guardian wouldn’t interrupt academic life of a student in DIU. If any guardian dies just after admitting his/her ward in DIU, the university authority would bear his/ her rest of the cost to continue academic life and in this regard DIU signed an agreement of Guardian’s Insurance Policy with Pragati Life Insurance which is first ever of its kind in Bangladesh. In the first phase of this policy, the first cheque handover ceremony of Guardian’s Insurance Policy was held on Monday at 71 Milonayotion of the university. Md. Jalalul Azim, Managing Director and CEO of Pragati Life was present in the ceremony as the chief guest while Dr Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU was present as the guest of honor. Prof Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU presided over the program. In the program three students were handed over cheque of the insurance amount as per policy. The chque recipients are Khadiza Khalid Khushbu and Ilma Akther of Computer Science and Engineering Department and Borhan Uddin of EEE Department. The function was also attended by Prof Dr SM Mahabub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor, Hamidulk HAQUE Khan, Treasurer, Prof Dr Engineer AKM Fazlul Hoque, Registrar and other high officials of DIU and Pragati Life Insurance. It may be mentioned here that the claimed money of the insurance will be added with the tuition fees of those students.
While addressing as the chief guest Md. Jalalul Azim said that each and everyone life we have a word ‘if’ and if means uncertainty. None of us have no idea that when this uncertainty would come in our life. Insurance can help us to face this uncertainty. That’s why Daffodil International University recently introduce guardian’s insurance policy with Pragati Life Insurance.
Md. Jalalul Azim also said that some negative approaches about insurance are prevailed in our society. We have to break this negativity.
DIU Chairman Dr Md. Sabur Khan said that death is a reality of our life. When a student losses his parent or guardian, he falls in a danger situation.
DIU has taken the initiative to stand behind them during that falls position and Guardian’s Insurance Policy will help them to continue their education life.
Dr Md. Sabur Khan also said to the students that human life has ups and downs, but we don’t have to be upset. We want to grow up this planet through the collective efforts of all together.
