A memorandum submitted by the President of guardian unity forum (an organisation of parents of students studying in educational institutions) to the DG of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE).

According to a press release , on Monday, (February 24 ) at 4:30 PM ,The President of Guardian Unity Forum Bir Muktijoddha Md. Ziaul Kabir Dulu, and General Secretary Md. Selim Mia met with Professor Dr. Azad Khan, the Director General (DG) of DSHE at his office in the Education Building .
They submitted a memorandum demanding the continuation of academic activities in all educational institutions across the country until the 20th of Ramadan to uphold the sanctity of the holy month.

Former DG of DSHE, Professor Rezaul Karim, was also present during the meeting. The memorandum suggested the option of conducting online classes during Ramadan.

The leaders pointed out that many schools have not yet received all their textbooks.
Additionally, annual sports and cultural festivals, as well as educational tours, have not been completed, causing a setback in students’ learning progress. They emphasised that education and learning activities are lagging behind and if institutions remain closed during Ramadan and the SSC examinations, students will suffer even more.

They also raised concerns that some schools and colleges do not adhere to government-mandated class hours. Moreover, certain teachers avoid conducting regular classes and instead force students to join their private coaching centers, turning education into a commercial business. The policy to curb teachers’ private coaching businesses is not being enforced properly.

The leaders further demanded that, as per government rules, additional classes should be arranged on weekly holidays for students who have fallen behind.
