There will be a 14-member board of directors for the company with representatives from different agencies including Bridges Division and Finance Division, he said, adding that the board will fix its organogram.

In 2022, the Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) under the Bridge Division proposed the formation of this company.

The company will operate in a similar manner to how Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) operates the metro rail.

On June 25, 2022, the prime minister inaugurated the Padma Bridge, and from the following day, vehicles started using the bridge.

Additionally, the Cabinet has approved the draft law for the Sheikh Hasina Institute of Frontier Technology (SHIFT).
