The present government has given more priority to social security programmes for a successful implementation of those. The programmes were furthermore expanded to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs). So, all sorts of its implementation related non-coordination, laps and gaps must be removed on an urgent basis.
Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division AK Mohiuddin Ahmed made this observation while addressing a daylong advocacy seminar in Rajshahi as the chief guest with Divisional Commissioner Noor-Ur-Rahman in the chair.
Cabinet Division and Divisional Commissioner’s Office jointly organised the seminar styled “National Social Security Strategy (NSSS) for Poverty Reduction” at Nanking Darbar Hall in the city. More than 75 officials including deputy commissioners and upazila nirbahi officers (UNOs) from Rajshahi, Natore, Pabna and Sirajganj districts attended the programme.
During his keynote presentation, Cabinet Division Deputy Secretary Khaled Hassan gave an overview of the NSSS and its implementation position.
Additional Divisional Commissioner Aminul Islam and Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Helal Mahmud Sharif also spoke. Chief Guest Mohiuddin Ahmed said the government has taken a pragmatic step for implementing the NSSS aimed at solving social problems and eradicate poverty.
