The Customs Intelligence officials seized 15kg of smuggled gold worth around Tk 7.5 crore from a bag found in the lady’s toilet in the city’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Saturday, customs sources said.
Assistant Director of Department of Customs Intelligence and Investigation of the HSIA said that the gold was recovered around 2:00am. However, nobody has been arrested in this connection.
The smuggled gold included gold bars, chains and others weighing 15 kilograms.
A case has been filed and investigation is on, the customs official said.
