Gold Sands Group has expanded its hospitality footprint in Cox’s Bazar with the soft opening of the Best Western Plus Bay Hills, a 4-star international-standard hotel managed by the renowned American hotel chain Best Western.
The soft opening ceremony took place on Saturday, marking a new milestone for the group in the country’s booming tourism sector.
Located in the scenic Himchhari area widely regarded as one of the most striking locations in Cox’s Bazar the property promises a distinctive experience for tourists.
According to the company, Best Western Plus Bay Hills is the only hotel in Cox’s Bazar that offers uninterrupted views of both the mountains and the sea from every suite, setting it apart in South Asia’s coastal hotel landscape.
The opening was celebrated with an array of colourful events that began at 9am.
The day-long programme included the recitation of the Holy Quran, a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony, a horse-drawn carriage promotional parade, and special illumination along Marine Drive.
The festivities continued with celebrity and influencer engagement, a musical barbecue night, an evening cultural show, a poolside dinner, and VIP guest receptions.
The event was attended by the CEO of Gold Sands Group, senior company officials, local administrative representatives, and prominent social and business leaders.
Speaking at the ceremony, Shahadat Hossain Bahar, CEO of Gold Sands Group, expressed gratitude to all attendees and reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to advancing the country’s tourism potential.
He said the launch of Best Western Plus Bay Hills reflects the group’s ambition to “work with renewed determination to further develop and grow Bangladesh’s tourism industry.”
The new hotel aims to cater to both domestic and international travellers seeking premium accommodation with the unique natural charm that Cox’s Bazar is known for.
