Bangladesh GM Niaz Murshed, a player of Dhaka Mohammedan SC, shared the 2nd slot in the DYTM Raja Dr Nazrin Shah KL International Open Chess Championship along with eleven other players securing five points after the 7th round matches at Olympic Sports Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday.
Another Bangladeshi participant — FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Gopalganj Chess Club — earned 3.5 points.
In the 7th round, Niaz drew with GM Nguyen Anh Dung of Vietnam while Fahad drew with FM Hakiki Kaisar Jenius of Indonesia.
