The Global Lift and Escalator Expo (GLE Expo) 2024 is currently being held at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB). It showcases the cutting-edge lifted and elevators equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
More than 50 brands from 10 different countries are exhibiting a wide range of elevators and escalators at the event.
The 5th edition of the “International Lift & Escalator Expo 2024” aims to promote the growth and development of the lift, escalator, and elevator industry in Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding housing market.
Nearly 50 local and international companies, including representatives from China, Japan, Italy, Turkey, Finland, and Spain, participated in the event, which showcased a wide range of elevators, escalators, lifts, and safety equipment.
AI-powered lifts are among the expo’s highlights, akin to the cutting-edge technology in Hollywood films.
Some lifts even feature facial recognition technology, allowing them to open automatically when identifying a person.
Moreover, the exhibition showcases elevators and escalators of various sizes, qualities, and designs, catering to everything from tiny residential homes to large factories and shopping malls.
Bangladesh’s elevator and escalator industry is worth about TK 15,000 crore, and industry experts believe this market will continue to grow.
The expo offers manufacturers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the industry, display their products, and explore new local and international business opportunities.
The organizers emphasized that the primary goal of the expo is to expand business opportunities for the participating companies by fostering new partnerships and markets in Bangladesh.
Anita Raghunath, Director of Vargo Communications and the expo organizer said the world is now driven by technology. From businesses to homes, technology is reshaping lives, making everyday tasks more accessible and efficient.
“This expo brings world-class manufacturers and importers of elevators and escalators to Bangladesh, ensuring that our customers’ evolving needs are met,” she added.
