Double strikes from Tim Kleindienst and Florian Wirtz paved the way for Germany’s 7-0 thrashing of Bosnia and Herzegovina in group football match of UEFA Nations League on Saturday.
The Germans got off to a perfect start in their final home game of the year when Joshua Kimmich’s cross allowed Jamal Musiala to head the opener into the right-hand corner.
The hosts dominated possession and pinned the defensively-minded Bosnians deep in their own half.
Germany’s onslaught was rewarded 20 minutes later when Kleindienst tipped in Robert Andrich’s long-range shot to double the lead.
The visitors couldn’t keep Julian Nagelsmann’s side at bay, but the hosts failed to make the most of their chances, with Kai Havertz and Musiala both going close.
However, the Germans made it three before the break when Havertz finished off a one-two with Wirtz in the 37th minute.
The hosts picked up where they left off after the restart, Wirtz curling a free kick into the roof of the net on 50 minutes before adding his second from close range seven minutes later.
