The newly appointed German Ambassador to Bangladesh, Dr Rudiger Lotz, paid a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last Thursday, according to a statement issued on Sunday.
Both sides talked about different bilateral issues including trade and businesses for mutual benefits.
This was the first meeting between the Foreign Affairs Adviser and the German envoy since Lotz officially assumed office in Dhaka.
He presented his credentials to President Md Shahabuddin on August 7 at Bangabhaban, formally beginning his diplomatic tenure in Bangladesh.
Dr Lotz succeeds former German Ambassador Achim Tröster in this role.
