Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus awarded the Senabahini Padak to Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman.
Earlier in the morning, President Md Shahabuddin and the Chief Adviser visited Shikha Anirban in Dhaka Cantonment. They placed floral wreaths to honour the armed forces members who died in the Liberation War.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chief Adviser will host a reception at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment.
He will honour selected gallantry award-winning freedom fighters and their heirs. He will also hand commemorative gifts to 101 award recipients and their families and exchange greetings with them.
Advisers from the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, the Chief Adviser’s special assistants, the chiefs of the three services, the Chief Adviser’s principal secretary, the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division, and senior civil and military officials will attend the programme.
The Chief Adviser will also attend a separate reception at Senakunja in Dhaka Cantonment in the afternoon.
