A woman who sustained severe burns in a gas cylinder explosion in Gazipur has died during treatment.
The victim, identified as Seema, 30, passed away around 9:15 am on Monday at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka, said Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the hospital.
The fire erupted on Sunday night at a house in the Mogorkhal area under the jurisdiction of Basan Police Station.
Five people, including two children, were admitted to the burn institute around 10:30 pm on Sunday, Dr Shawon added.
The other victims have been identified as Parvin, 35, Taslima, 30, Tanzila, 10, and Ayaan, 1.
According to Dr Shawon, Parvin suffered burns on 32 percent of her body, Taslima 95 percent, Seema 90 percent, Tanzila 90 percent, and Ayaan 28 percent.
