Gazi Group, Agrani Bank, Gulshan win in DPL Cricket

Gazi Group Cricketers, Agrani Bank Cricket Club, Gulshan Cricket Club won their respective matches of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket on Thursday.
At the BKSP Ground-3 in Savar, Gazi Group Cricketers registered a huge eight-wicket victory over Shinepukur Cricket Club in their fourth match.
Batting first Shinepukur Cricket Club scored 161 off 45.2 overs.
In return, Gazi Group Cricketers cruised to the victory target making 162 for the loss of two wickets when they had 32.1 overs to spare.
Anamul Haque Bijoy and Sadikur Rahman of Gazi Group scored 52 and 50 runs respectively.
Earlier, Zubaer Hossain of Shinepukur Cricket Club was his team’s highest scorer with 46 runs.
Shamim Mia of Gazi Group Cricketers harpooned three wickets instead of 22 runs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match.
At the BKSP Ground-4 in Savar, Agrani Bank Cricket Club recorded an easy five-wicket victory over Dhanmondi Sports Club in their fourth match.
Chasing Dhanmondi’s meagre total of 115 off 33.5 overs, the Bankers’ team sailed home making 120 for the loss of five wickets when they had 67 balls to spare.
Marshall Ayub of Agrani Bank remained unbeaten with 51 runs. His 92-ball innings had six fours and a sixer.
Hasan Murad of Dhanmondi was the highest wicket taker with two wickets for 30 runs.
Earlier, Moin Khan of Dhanmondi made 35 from 40 balls featuring three fours and a sixer.
Robiul Haque of Agrani Bank captured four wickets in the space of 14 runs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling display.
Arif Ahmed and Taibur Rahman bagged a pair of wickets each instead of 11 and 24 runs respectively.
At the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur, Gulshan Cricket Club posted a facile six-wicket victory over Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club in their fourth match.
Trailling Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club’s modest total of 228 for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 50 overs, Gulshan Cricket Club reached the winning spot scoring 232 for the loss of four wickets remaining with 19 balls.
Opener Zawad Abrar of Gulshan Cricket Club was the highest scorer of his team. He notched up a superb 67 from 75 balls featuring nine fours.
Khalid Hasan and Azizul Hakim scored 43 and 40 runs respectively.
Earlier, Amit Majumder restored some parity for his team. He hit a marvelous 88. His 108-ball innings was belted with 10 fours and a sixer.
Asaduzzaman Payel claimed four wickets in the space of 53 runs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match.
