Gazi Dastagir remanded for 5 days in Parvez murder case

The Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Narayanganj on Wednesday granted five-day police remand to interrogate former minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Bir Protik in Parvez murder case filed with with Fatulla Police Station.

Gazi Dastagir, who was arrested from his Shantinagar residence by DB Police on August 24 last, was shown arrested in Parvez murder case.

Earlier, he was ‘shown arrested’ in three other murder cases, one with Rupganj Police Station and two others with Araihajar Police Station.

Inspector of Narayanganj Chief Judicial Magistrate Court said police produced Gazi before the Court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Haider Ali with prayer for a 10-day remand in connection with Parvez murder case.

The court, after hearing the statement of the prosecution, granted the five-day police remand.

Md Sohrab Hossain, father of Parvez Hossain, 23, filed the case with Fatullal Model Police Station on August 22 last, accusing 178 people.

 

Other accused of the case are- ousted Prime Minister Hasina and former MP Shamaim Osman.
Parvez Hossain was shot dead by police at Bhuigar area under Fatulla Police Station during the anti-discrimination movement on July 19.

Roman, a Class-10 student, was shot dead by police on July 19 last during the anti-discrimination student movement in front Chonpara slum area of Narayanganj town.
