We are witnessing the barbaric Israeli bombardment of Gaza, where innocent people are being killed and displaced once again. The same tragedy is unfolding in Lebanon and Yemen.
Yet, in stark contrast, the Muslim world carries on with lavish iftar and sehri feasts-camel meat in the Arab world and even ostrich meat in Karachi and other cities.
How is this Ramadan not compromised when our fellow Muslims are starving, suffering, and dying? While the oppressed struggle for survival, Muslim leaders hold conferences that yield no meaningful outcomes.
In reality, these rulers bear responsibility for the bloodshed of their Muslim brethren.
It is time to reflect on our priorities and take concrete action to support those in need.
The suffering in Gaza and other conflict zones cannot be ignored while the rest of the Muslim world indulges in excess.
