Garment industry in Bangladesh has in fact become iconic indeed by now. As a matter of fact, the Garment industry in Bangladesh has become the second largest industry in the world followed by China. According to International Labour organization more than 4.5million people work force in Garment industries in Bangladesh and of them 80 percent are women, according to World Bank.
As a matter of fact that late Nurul Kader khan,CSP, began a garment factory in Bangladesh in 1978 who in fact despatched 130 trainees to South Korea for training. Therefore, late Nurul Kader khan was pioneer in establishing garment factories in Bangladesh.
Of late 54 Garment factory workers in Savar, Asulia went on strike on September23 in20024 for increased wages. BGMEA in fact sided with workers of garment factories. BGMA in fact requested proprietors of factories to increase the wages of workers and improved working conditions as well.
Apparently garment industry in fact plays as vital contributor to Bangladesh economic and in fact plays as vital player in global textile and apparel market indeed. Therefore, this writer in fact is agreeable to increase wages of garment workers and improved working conditions as well since Bangladesh Investment Authority (BIDA) recorded that as of December in 2020 export of RMG stood at US $27.4 million.
It gives the impression that the RNG sector is doing better indeed. Therefore, it is more appropriate to rage the salary of garment workers.
