Police on Saturday arrested a fugitive accused, who was sentenced to death in a case filed murdering a teenage girl Beena after gang rape in Sherpur district, from the city’s Kawran Bazar area.
The arrested accused has been identified as Md. Aman Ullah, 26, son of deceased Fazal Haque, hailed from Bankakura village under Jhenaigati Police Station of Sherpur district, according to a police press release, reports BSS.
On the basis of secret information, the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) in a raid at Kawran Bazar area under Tejgaon Police Station arrested Aman Ullam at 1.05pm, the release added.
According to the case details, on July 19, 2016, the arrested Aman Ullah along with other accused raped and killed a schoolgirl Kishori Beena in Sherpur and dumped her body in a nearby pond.
