Fuel sector is the main driving force of the national economy

Fuel and Mineral Resources Department Secretary Mohammad Saiful Islam said that timely and quality implementation of projects of Petrobangla and its subordinate companies is very important to ensure the country’s energy security and sustainable development. The energy sector is the main driving force of the national economy. The success of every project conducted in this sector has a direct impact on the country’s industrialization, employment creation and improvement of the people’s living standards.
He further said that the government’s goal is to move the energy sector towards self-reliance through modern technology, skilled human resources and effective management. For this, transparency and accountability must be ensured in the planning, implementation and supervision of every project. Project directors are the main leaders of the implementation and the success of the project depends on their experience, skills and decision-making ability. He thanked the authorities for organizing such a beautiful workshop.
He made the above remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a workshop titled “Exchanging experiences with project directors of completed projects through Petrobangla and its affiliated companies and challenges and do-ables in project implementation” organized by Jalalabad Gas T&D System Ltd. at the conference room of Jalalabad Gas Office in Mendibagh of the city on Saturday (October 25).
In his speech as the president, Petrobangla Chairman Md. Rezanur Rahman said that future projects will be more dynamic and successful if Petrobangla and its affiliated companies exchange information, share experiences and apply innovative thinking in project management. All concerned should play a more active role in planning, risk management and ensuring fruitful implementation as per the government’s guidelines.
In his speech as the special guest, Additional Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Department Dr. Nurunnahar Chowdhury NDC said that honesty, efficiency and foresight are essential in utilizing the country’s natural resources.
In his speech as the special guest, Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Md. Sarwar Alam said, the experience gained in the energy sector should be used to face future challenges. If the government’s priority projects are implemented quickly, the country’s economic growth will accelerate further. If any kind of cooperation is required in the implementation of the project, my full cooperation will continue.
 Petrobangla Chairman Md. Rezanur Rahman presided over and conducted by Achma Ara Begum, Deputy Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Department, Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Md. Sarwar Alam, Additional Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Department Dr. Nurunnahar Chowdhury ndc delivered speeches as special guests.

Abdul Mannan Patwari, Director (Operation and Mines) Engineer Md. Rafiqul Islam, Managing Director of Gas Transmission Company Limited Engineer Md. Harun Bhuiyan, Managing Director of Bapex Dhaka Engineer Md. Fazlul Haque, Managing Director of Bangladesh Gas Fields Co. Limited Engineer Md. Faruk Hossain, Managing Director of Jalalabad Gas T&D System Limited Md. Atiqur Rahman, Managing Director of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Co. Ltd. Officials from various departments were also present here. Certificates and crests of honor were given to the project implementation directors at the workshop. At the end of the workshop, the chief guest and the guests planted trees in the premises of Jalalabad Gas Office.
