Death of hotel boarder: Friend on 7-day remand in Barisal

A Barisal court on Thursday sanctioned seven-day remand against Shawkat Haoladar, arrested murder case accused lodged following death of his friend and roommate Imran Hossain Sumon, who died after falling on road from his room on 4th floor of the Hotel Arena in the city.
Police on early Monday arrested his roommate Shawkat, an iron scarp items trader of Dholaikhal area in Dhaka and son of Adam Ali of Bogura Road area of Barisal from the spot. Bottles of foreign wine, cash money and playing cards recovered from their room by the police.
Shakhawat Hossain, Kotwali police station officer- in- charge and investigation officer of the case, said Abdullah Md. Isha, elder brother of the dead victim lodged a murder case against nine accused including roommate Shawkat Hossain Haoladar on early Tuesday.
