Fresh low pressure likely over Bay of Bengal on July 24: BMD

A new low pressure area is likely to develop over the North Bay of Bengal on July 24, according to a forecast from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The Met Office said monsoon conditions remain fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.
In its latest bulletin, BMD noted that the monsoon trough extends from Rajasthan through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Assam, crossing the northern region of Bangladesh. An associated trough also stretches into the North Bay.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are expected in several areas, particularly over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. One or two places in Rajshahi and Khulna divisions may also see rainfall.
Moderately heavy showers are likely in parts of Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, the bulletin added.
