Free vegetable seeds, fertilisers distributed among farmers

In Shibganj, Chapainawabganj, free winter vegetable seeds and chemical fertilisers were distributed among 1,100 small and marginal farmers.

On Thursday afternoon, under the Agricultural Incentive Programme for the 2025-26 fiscal year, the distribution programme was organised by the Upazila Agriculture Extension Office in front of the Upazila Agriculture Office.

The programme was inaugurated by Upazila Executive Officer Md. Azahar Ali.

Also present at the event were Upazila Agriculture Officer Noyon Mia, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Sanjay Kumar Sarkar, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Shahadat Hossain, Agriculture Extension Officer Abdullah Al Azadi, and others.

As part of the programme, seeds for winter vegetables were provided in seven different types in one package to 400 farmers cultivating in homesteads, while fertilisers and seeds were distributed among 700 farmers cultivating in open fields.

Specifically, 145 farmers received bottle gourd seeds, 180 received pumpkin seeds, 190 received eggplant seeds, and 185 received cucumber seeds.
