As part of an environmental conservation initiative, free saplings were distributed to various educational institutions in the Beradoma and Dighulia areas of Tangail Municipality. The program was organized under the directive of Leader of the Nation Begum Khaleda Zia and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. The saplings were distributed on behalf of Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Publicity Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
On Wednesday (August 13), the organizers handed over saplings of fruit-bearing and forest trees to students and teachers at Dighulia Shaheed Mizanur Rahman High School, Shaheed Jahangir High School, and Dighulia Purbo Government Primary School in Ward 4 of the municipality.
Present at the event were former Acting General Secretary Mahmudul Haque Shanu, VP Nurul Islam, Senior Joint Convener of District Jubo Dal Zahid Hossain Mala, Joint Convener Syed Habibul Alam Shatil, City Jubo Dal Member Secretary Mir Majedur Rahman Sajib, District Chhatra Dal Joint Convener Shawon, City BNP Vice-President Aslam Mia, City Sramik Dal General Secretary Delwar Hossain Delu, and District Jubo Dal member Tarek Siddiqui Sujon.
The organizers stated that the initiative aims to protect the environment and inspire the younger generation to participate in tree planting. They encouraged students to plant and care for at least one tree alongside their academic responsibilities.
