Free heart camp at Universal Medical

On the occasion of World Heart Day, a daylong “Free Heart Camp” was successfully held on Monday at Universal Cardiac Hospital in Mohakhali, Dhaka. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., the camp took place on the hospital premises opposite Mohakhali RAOWA, where more than five hundred patients received free specialized medical consultations.
Specialized consultations at the camp were provided by:
Professor Dr. Nasir Uddin Ahmed (Chief Cardiac Surgeon), Professor Dr. Khondkar Kamrul Islam (Chief Clinical and Interventional Cardiologist), Professor Dr. Amal Kumar Chowdhury (Senior Clinical and Interventional Cardiologist), Brigadier General Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamruzzaman (Senior Cardiovascular Surgeon), Dr. Ashraful Haque Siam (Minimal Invasive Cardiac Surgeon), Dr. Saniya Haque (Clinical and Interventional Cardiologist), Dr. M A Hasnat (Clinical and Interventional Cardiologist & Medicine Specialist), Dr. Romena Rahman (Cardiovascular Surgeon), and Dr. Abdul Jabbar Jibon (Pediatric Cardiologist).
In addition, special heart camps were arranged at the office of the Daily Prothom Alo and at Mohakhali SKS Shopping Mall, along with several street camps at different locations. Moreover, a “Cardiac Caravan” toured across Dhaka city to raise public awareness about heart disease.
On the same day, a “Free Heart Camp” was also organized for locals at Universal Medical Services Ltd. on Jail Road in Brahmanbaria. There, patients received consultations from Dr. Md. Nazmul Haque (Assistant Professor of Cardiology, Universal Medical College & Hospital; Specialist in Cardiology and Internal Medicine).
Patients who came to the camp received a 20% special discount on all kinds of hospital tests, while members of the Universal Heart Club enjoyed a 30% discount (terms and conditions applied).
