A free distribution programme of seeds and chemical fertilizers for various Rabi season crops among small and marginal farmers has been inaugurated in Kulaura.
The program was organized by the Upazila Administration and the Department of Agricultural Extension on Sunday afternoon.
The programme was inaugurated by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Mohiuddin at the training room of the Upazila Agriculture Office.
The programme was presided over by Upazila Agriculture Officer Muhammad Jasim Uddin as special guest.
Upazila Livestock Officer Nibas Chandra Pal, Forest Department’s Kulaura Range Officer Abdul Ahad, Deputy Assistant Plant Conservation Officer Ranjit Kumar Chanda, etc.
In his speech as the chief guest, UNO Md. Mohiuddin said, Many small and marginal farmers in the upazila cannot cultivate Boro and other crops during the Rabi season due to lack of seeds and fertilizers.
The government is providing free seeds and fertilizers to encourage their cultivation and increase production. This incentive It will help farmers become self-reliant.
Agriculture Officer Muhammad JasimUddin said that under the incentive program in the Rabi season of the 2025-26 fiscal year, Boro paddy (Ufshi and hybrid), wheat, mustard, sunflower, Free seeds and chemical fertilizers will be distributed among 2,085 small and marginal farmers in the upazila to increase the cultivation and production of various crops, including peanuts.
