Due to non-availability of books for all classes by the government, books of two classes of primary school and secondary school have been handed out to a small number of students. Books are given to students in classes 7 and 10 of secondary schools and classes 1, 2 and 3 of primary schools. Madrasah students have not received any books. Today, Wednesday (January 1), on the first day of the academic year, this book was distributed among the students in various educational institutions. Every year on the first day of January book festival is organized in various educational institutions but this year the picture was different. There was no book distribution ceremony in schools in a festive atmosphere.
According to upazila education office sources, there are about 43 thousand students in secondary schools and dakhil madrasas. A large number of students have received books for 7th class Maths, Bengali and English. Bengali, English and Maths books have arrived for 10th standard. Not a single book of 6th, 8th and 9th class has come. On the other hand, no class books for Madrasas and Technical Education Institutions have come so far.
Meanwhile, there are about 34,000 primary school students. Among these are books for children from first class to third class. Not even a single book came for the fourth and fifth classes.
In this regard, Mirzapur Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Nazrul Islam and Primary Education Officer Jannatul Ferdous said that the books of the subject which have been obtained by the government have been distributed. Books for technical and Madrasa students have not come up till now. Later, when the books are available, they will be distributed among the students of different educational institutions.
