Jamaican sprint queen Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is back.
The track athletics star has released a video on social media (below) featuring some of her most memorable races, which ended with the words: “Unfinished business.” The post was captioned: “Time will honor your greatness – 2025.”
Fraser-Pryce became the first Jamaican woman to win an Olympic women’s 100m title at Beijing 2008 and defended her title at London 2012.
She has won five 100m world championships crowns to date, including two after becoming a mom in 2017.
The Kingston sprinter last raced at the Paris 2024 Games, where she advanced out of the 100m first round but withdrew before the semi-finals.
“It is difficult for me to find the words to describe the depth of my disappointment,” Fraser-Pryce wrote on social media at the time. “The support of my fans, my country and the larger community has rooted me in immense gratitude that has sustained me throughout my career.”
“My faith has always affirmed my trust in my journey,” she added.
In January 2025, the 38-year-old revealed in an interview that she would compete for one more year before finishing her astonishing career, which was confirmed by her latest video post.
The 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this September could be her final race.
